I wore my Duel Academy jacket to Cactuscon earlier this year, but I didn't have the full cosplay until Anime Detour.

★When and where was the last time you cosplayed?
Sabotencon. probably won't again until March

Pikachu gijinka, Umbreon gijinka, Team Magma grunt [Pokeymanz]

★Who is your favourite person to cosplay as?
Pikachu, I guess. everyone loves Pikachu.

★Who do you REALLY wanna cosplay as?
hmm... well I guess I'm excited to finally get a start on Empress Luluko, and I really love Blair's outfit in Soul Eater. for me it's not so much who I want to cosplay, it's whether or not I will look good as that character... [no matter what, I always feel the answer is 'no.']

★How many of your friends cosplay?
not very many, but I've made some new friends because of it ^^

★Have you ever walked around in public in your cosplay outfit?
isn't that what conventions are for...?
I don't change out of costumes to go out to public places when I'm at a convention. like eating at Perkins and Jack in the Box at Anime Iowa. and getting coffee and teriyaki chicken at Sabotencon. gotta love gettin' stared at.

★Have people in public ever recognised you and asked for photos?
I've yet to wear cosplay on a non-convention weekend so no... unless you count pictures at the Plummer House last summer. there was a little boy there who was all excited that we were Pokemon.

★Have you ever made your own cosplay outfit?
I have yet to make one entirely by hand, but that will change if/when I get Empress Luluko done. I wish I could make all of them, but I'm simply not good enough and I don't have the time.

★When and where did you first learn of cosplay?
the internetz.
actually I suppose the first time I ever heard of the concept was in the back of a Cardcaptor Sakura manga when I was much younger, but I didn't hear of the word until a little over a year ago.
although technically, I've been cosplaying since I was 11 years old and dressing up for all the Harry Potter movies x3

★What did you think of it then?
when I was younger I thought it was odd and that it would be impossible to replicate any of Sakura's outfits, haha. but when I got back into anime I immediately knew I wanted to be a cosplayer.

★What do you think of it now?
it's my favorite hobby, I wish that I had more opportunities to do it and that I had more cosplaying friends close by. you all seem to be in the midwest

★Where do you usually cosplay?
conventions, photo shoots, Halloween parties. :F

★Have you ever done a cosplay skit on stage?
not yet, but I have the best idea ever for a Suzy/Lulu dance routine - I mean skit - if we ever do a masquerade with a decent time allotment.

★Have you ever won a prize for said skit?
lol I'm never going to win anything.

★Do you plan your cosplay outfits waaay before you’re meant to wear them?
always. I like to know what I'm wearing and on what days months in advance. although I always seem to end up working on my costumes until the night before.

★Have you ever been to a convention and cosplayed?
all of them in some form or another. I would feel practically naked if I wasn't cosplaying!
that's what I love about conventions - you look pretty stupid if you aren't dressed up.

★What is the best thing about cosplay?
I've just always loved being in costume. I guess that probably stems from the fact that I don't like myself very much. but I also love to create and while I'm best at writing, sewing allows me to create something visual too.

★What is the worst thing about cosplay?
being too broke to do it and worrying about my sewing abilities.
patterns I never worry about. I make my own. :F

★Why do you cosplay?
it's amazing fun and I have the best cosplay partner in the whole world.
